Turning Knowledge into Income: Entrepreneurship for Scholars

For most Muftis and Aalims, the idea of "entrepreneurship" can feel foreign — something for businesspeople, not scholars. But at MINBAR Labs, we see it differently: entrepreneurship is simply the skill of turning what you already know into something sustainable.

That might mean starting an online course to teach Arabic grammar to English-speaking students. It might mean freelancing as a translator, a content writer, or a consultant for organisations that need authentic Islamic knowledge communicated clearly. It might mean building an institution of your own, run with modern tools and modern confidence.

None of this requires abandoning traditional scholarship. It requires English to communicate with a wider audience, digital literacy to manage the everyday tools of running something, and enough comfort with AI to work efficiently rather than being left behind by it.

This is why Entrepreneurship and Leadership sits at Stage 6 of our roadmap, not Stage 1. It is the outcome the earlier stages are building toward — a scholar who is not just heard, but who is also, finally, self-sustained.
