For a scholar, that might mean asking it to summarise a long article into three key points, to suggest three ways of explaining a concept simply for a beginner audience, or to draft a first version of an email that you then edit into your own words.

A good habit to build early is being specific. Instead of asking it to "write me a khutbah," try asking it to "brainstorm five discussion points for a khutbah on patience, aimed at working professionals, each explained in two sentences." The more specific the request, the more useful the response.

It is also worth remembering what ChatGPT is not. It is not a source of Islamic rulings, and it should never be treated as one. Use it as a starting point for drafting, organising and practising English — and always verify anything related to Fiqh or Aqeedah against qualified scholarship, the same way you always have.
