Public Speaking and Khutbah Delivery: Where English Meets Da'wah

A khutbah delivered with conviction in Urdu or Arabic can move a room. The same message, delivered with the same conviction in English, can move a much larger and more varied audience — the young Muslim raised abroad, the new revert unfamiliar with Urdu, the global viewer who finds the talk online months later.

This is not about replacing the language a scholar already delivers in. It is about adding the option to speak in English when the audience calls for it, without hesitation and without losing the authority and warmth that comes from years of study.

Public speaking in a second language is its own skill, separate from fluency itself. It requires comfort with pacing, pronunciation under pressure, and the confidence to keep going through a stumble rather than stopping. A scholar who can deliver a khutbah, a lecture, or an online talk confidently in English has simply expanded who can hear them — without changing a word of what they came to say.
